CreationIX - The Universe Began At Time Zero
The Beginning
CreationIXians worship the Kernel, which created the universe at midnight GMT
the morning of January 1, 1970, UNIX Time Zero.
The entire universe was created at that time, complete with physical evidence of
previous times (fossils, historical records, the Bible), and even with people with
memories that they believe extend to before the beginning.
We know, however, that there was no universe before Time Zero. How could there be?
The End
Unfortunately, the universe as we know it is likely to end on February 6, 2106, at 22:28:16
GMT, time 2^32.
Perhaps at that point the universe will end or perhaps it will simply restart; only the
Kernel knows.
Heretics
Some heretical cults insist that the universe began five or six thousand years ago,
while others believe that it began last Thursday. These claims are obvious nonsense;
even if one believes the blasphemous Signed Timers, the universe could not possibly
have begun before some time around 1906, time -2^31. As for Last Thursday, why, that's
well over a billion seconds after Time Zero... preposterous.
Holidays
CreationIXians are fun-loving folks. We celebrate a minor holiday of feasting and
relaxation at the 150th second of each 2^16-second cycle. We celebrate
a major holiday, with fireworks, for 2^8 seconds at the end of every 2^25-second cycle.
